Say NO to the Health Czar & YES to Judicial Reform

The Health Czar bill is still at risk of being brought to the House floor and we’ve heard that Speaker Murrell Smith is very motivated to get it passed. The Judicial Reform Bill is behind it on the docket and needs to be taken up in the last 3 days of so it can be passed. Please do the following by Monday 5/6/24:

• Contact your House Rep and Speaker Smith. Communicate clearly, but with respect, the following:

  • You do not want the Health Czar bill brought to the floor

  • You expect a NO vote on the Health Czar bill if it reaches the floor

  • You expect a YES on the Judicial Reform bill and request they support any amendments that further strengthen the bill.

Help Not Harm Bill Update

The Help Not Harm Bill passed the Senate and was actually strengthened. They adopted an amendment that will require schools to inform parents if their child shows interest in transitioning while on campus.

The Bill is expected to be on the schedule as early as Tuesday next week, should be concurred, and could be signed into law as early as the end of the week (5/10/24). Please continue to keep this bill in your prayers.
